Lube Stop is now offering a student ID discount at each of its 37 locations to help undergraduates with the rising cost of tuition. Students and faculty are eligible for a 15% discount on all products and services when they present a valid ID for their college or university.
“Tuition and interest rates on student loans have continued to rise, and we at Lube Stop wanted to show students our support by helping them save costs on car maintenance. We thought a student ID discount would be a great way to assist students because Ohio’s colleges and universities have a high percentage of commuters. This discount is also extended to faculty to thank them for encouraging and educating the region’s future workforce”, said Emily Bryant, Lube Stop’s Fleet Marketing and Sustainability Manager.
Lube Stop’s employees were more than happy to promote the discount at their stores. “One of our student customers said that it was nice they could save the extra money for their school fees. I know this time of year can be tough for many college students and parents, and it’s nice that Lube Stop is taking that into consideration to help out our customers.” States Bedford Manager, Tim McCroskey.
Amanda Wilson, Assistant Manager at Cuyahoga Falls, agrees: “I’ve noticed that the students are excited to hear they receive a discount because every little bit helps. They are on a tight budget since not a lot of them are able to work full time.”
Manager Chris Delaria and his team have provided numerous student ID discounts on 591 Canton Road. “Many students are away from home and maintaining their own vehicle for the first time. One student said she just spent $350 on two books for the semester and was very grateful for the savings at Lube Stop. We are glad to be somebody students can trust to reduce the stress of caring for their vehicle.”
So far, Lube Stop has developed partnerships with Kent State University, Baldwin Wallace University, University of Akron, Stark State, Lakeland Community College, Cuyahoga Community College, Walsh University, Ursuline College, Malone University, and Bryant & Stratton College in Akron to promote the student and faculty ID discount. The company plans on reaching out to more local schools, including technical colleges, in the near future.
